Pentadel Project Management is proud to have completed another project at Charlie Bigham’s award winning West Kitchen in Wells, Somerset.
Pentadel undertook complex modifications to the existing facility whilst maintaining business-critical production without disruption.
The Pentadel team designed and managed the installation of 15 tonnes of support, roof strengthening and access steel work – to facilitate the fitting of three 6.5 tonne de-odourising units, each measuring 38 cubic metres – in a confined and live ceiling void.
A major challenge was presented by the ceiling void’s restricted access; this was overcome through the installation of an external 16-tonne crash deck. A new runner beam system will aid with future maintenance of the new units.
Crucially, the project was completed under budget and on schedule in December 2018, with no accidents and without any disruption to Bigham’s ongoing production operations.
