Echo by Lloyds Pharmacy
It gave the Pentadel team a great sense of purpose to be able to support several front-line clients through the Covid-19 crisis.
One such client was Echo, the online, direct-to-consumer arm of Lloyds Pharmacy. Echo found itself having to rapidly adapt in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. We are incredibly proud to have designed and delivered a new pharmaceutical distribution centre, complete with its own internal pharmacy, in just 12 weeks during the height of lockdown.
The project involved the fast-paced transformation of a run-down 1980s portal frame warehouse. We designed a bright and airy conversion, which includes a new, internal two-storey office and amenities section, as well as a pharmacy, a packing store, and a cold store. We also incorporated a new, internal raised access dock with two goods lifts, and remodelled the exterior to allow for more efficient car parking.
Despite the extremely tight timeline, Echo was keen for its new facility to be aligned with its cultural values - it should be a dynamic and positive environment for its team to work in for the long term.
“We are passionate about the creation of people-focused industrial spaces.”
The facility was designed entirely with Echo’s identity and values at its core. It is flooded with natural light, and features interesting, inspiring interior design - without a carpet or ceiling tile in sight!
The Pentadel team designed and managed the entire project, ensuring the client achieved its facility on time and to the agreed budget - and most importantly, we are proud to have done so safely, adhering at all times to robust Covid safe HSE practices which ensured there were no incidences of Covid-19 on site.
